Ron gives us a methodology that introduces the program from the ground-up starting with the basic characteristics of a servant leader. He goes on to present a comprehensive strategy that includes all the pieces for a holistic organization. The strategy is driven by servant leaders that include employees and managers at all levels of the organizational chart. I see myself building a matrix that lays out the details of this strategy that I can begin to introduce to my team.As a long-term manager/leader in state, county and local government, 4th Dimension Leadership will be a valuable addition to my library on leadership.

Excellent book! I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to hear Ron speak and work with him on building a servant leadership culture. His wisdom has helped me reflect on and embrace challenges in the past year. He is a mentor and absolutely a top local government influencer! His book will inspire and challenge you.
There are no shortcuts to creating a servant leadership culture. It requires individual commitment from each leader--a commitment to provide what is best for those being led. If you are ready to dig in a make a positive change, this book is for you. It's not easy, but it is good!
Being familiar with Ron's speaking, I was curious if that same authentic enthusiasm could come through printed pages. Well it really does! The warm conversational style of this book makes it clear that, for Ron, servant leadership is personal. And, further, that it must be personal to be effective. Judging from Ron's talks and interviews, it seems servant leadership comes naturally for him - almost innate. That being said, Ron has done a very good job of breaking down servant leadership into learnable, actionable processes. I am very much looking forward to bringing these processes into my work life .
Having spent my entire working life leading in large organizations, I take interest in books touting new principles. And so I purchased Holifield's on my since it had an interesting title and was inexpensive. It is a quick read that repackages well-known principles with new acronyms and buzz phrases. I was disappointed. In the version at least, there is neither documentation of occasional quotations nor a bibliography. Curiously, the book touts only generalizations without discussion of successful application. One would at least expect the author to detail how his generalizations have benefited his own business and employees. It would be interesting to see such an analysis. Not worth the cost of five bucks.
Self awakening very Good, Thanks Ron
First, it is certainly not worth $16. It’s a very short book with very big print on the pages, so there’s just not much information there. Second, this “radical” philosophy is basic leadership at best. A beginners book, buy Extreme Ownership instead.
